KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK is the solo project of Artyom (M.M.), who is also the founder of the ZHELEZOBETON label releasing experimental and post-industrial music, and the member of some other projects, such as HATTIFNATTER, GOVORIT RADIO KOSMOS, LUNAR ABYSS, etc... Formed in 2002, KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK has released a couple of solo albums, several collaboration works with other Russian experimental projects and many tracks on various compilations of experimental music, both Russian and international. The sound of the project is usually based on analogue electronics, radio noises and various found sounds, all interwoven into a psychedelic flow of dense electronic layers, often exploring the extreme areas of the sonic spectrum. The purpose of these experiments is to switch off the rational perception of a listener and to immerse him in a direct experience of the abstract sound.

NEZNAMO was started by Dmitry N. Shilov in late 1995 as UNKNOWN, exploring of human experience and existence. Few versatile drone / ambient / minimalism / neoclassical works were released during 1996-2002. There was no activity from 2002 to 2006. In the second half of 2006 the project has continued its explorations under new name: NEZNAMO. Mystical drones and rustles created by traditional instruments, resonant devices, voice, stones, wood and sand with a touch of natural field recordings.

UHUSHUHU is one of the manifestations of the creative collaboration of Utrovortu. It's a drone-noise experimental electronic project characterized by multi-layered rich sound, combining electronic noises, drone loops, synthesizer rumble, guitar modulations as well as distorted natural and industrial sounds. The band members vary from 1 to 6 people. Performances are based on improvisation and are accompanied by visual projections generated directly from the sound signal by the algorithm designed by VJ BAHOG, one of the project members..

I just heard about this week ago. Too bad there is BASTARD NOISE in Helsinki (Korjaamo) at the same time. So already booked my way there, so will have to skip this one. BN show happens in Blow Up Your Gramophone festival. Includes also Läjä Äijälä doing experimental soundtrack stuff, but mostly more music oriented festival.

apologies for slow report but here goes:

Kirjakahvila setup = mini PA, 1 xtra-long table *FULL* of gear (stompboxes, octatrack, samplers, small and medium size mixers etc etc) after st.petersburg crew set up, whew.
20 (?30?)  people showed up, cool!

NEZNAMO opened. "forest style" (?sorry dima?) ambient set with bells, voice, loops, delays, reverbs... kinda dark ritual, but still on the sweet side

UXUSHUXU next. duo playin lots of devices. a bit more into spacedrones style, also on the harmonic/sweet side of things

KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK next. to me the best set, much dirtier and grim electronix than the first performers, and a master of his gear. amazing all the way. (i like the records a lot but the gig was even better!)

visuals by programmer wizzard Bahog, who controlled from some kinda tablet from the other side of the room : Neznamo = psychedelic b/w glitch patterns, U = colorful xplosions stuff, KR = creepy spirals with spikes. all visuals "reacting" to sound.
