listening to the MP3s for Dissecting Table's Chaos Attractor album (yes, MP3s because I wouldn't know where to start with anything post-Release days, and I wouldn't just throw money at a random album from him at this point).  Average, if not slightly above average, typical Japanese noise.  I miss his industrial sounds.  There is a point of this 43-minute track where it sounds like he is either manipulating a metal/death metal track, or he is creating a metal track.  It's interesting for about a minute.  It goes on for far too long.  The tapping of the dome of the ride cymbal is effective.  Some decent psychedelic, upper-frequency sounds thrown around the mix as well.

I only buy vinyl, d00ds.

Maybe Screloma?:

I've had just "Dirt" for several years, but it's been a while since I've last played it.  I don't recall the material being groundbreaking in any way, but just satisfying enough to have kept the disc.

Linekraft was mentioned earlier but I'm surprised no one mentioned MOTHRA, the band from which Linekraft came. I played with them in Japan and they put on a great show. Industrial in the Missing Foundation/Einsturzende Neubauten and perhaps Swans vein.

Linekraft new CD on Malignant Records (or Black Plagve) is very nice. Keeps improving and taking shape. Combining harsh noise elements with heavy duty metal junk hammering, speaches, music fragments etc. Not really industrial in style of steady percussion or clear "songs", but atmosphere of vandals in factory hall making mess.

Has anyone heard Vasilisk comeback album on Steinklang?? Curious about it.

Very curious here too! As mentioned in my "harsher side of Dissecting Table" thread, the Vasilisk on their split with DT is top notch. The clear winner of the split. Last thing I'd heard from Vasilisk was I believe their contribution to the Banned (noise!) compilation, Ne Shi. I remember laughing out loud when I saw Vasilisk featured in that line-up... like how fucking long were they to be lumped in with "Japanese Noise"? But the Vasilisk featured on that Banned comp was memorably very good. A kind of harsh ritual droning sound, quite dense, yet sedate. One of the better tracks I recall. Will need to dig it out again soon.

And the new Vasilisk on the split with DT (also on Steinklang) is also quite the powerful affair, particularly the first track which again takes the dense, metallic, droning elements and sets them against some tibetan ritual music to excellent effect.

Funny, but on a side note. I was actually inspired to give the newer Dissecting Table a shot after Mr Linekraft told me to my face, a few years back, after an excellent live set, that DT were a massive inspiration. I remember expressing a degree of incredulity at that pronouncement, but then attempting fairness in making a note to self to give the shit another chance. "If this guy digs them..."

I like dissecting table but could use something with shorter songs. Any recommendations?

GRIM spend a lot of time on my turntable this week..

I really wish someone would re-issue White Hospital's LP, I'd snatch that up immediately. Lust Vessel seem to be the best place recently for getting tapes of this ilk, some great releases from them.

Surprising how much the material of Grim / White hospital grows on me....
Maybe early works of Agencement would be of interest to Bogskaggmannen....

What are people's thoughts on the GRIM Orgasm lp?

Love the 7" I have from the 80s.
However, there are always doubts about new material when someone reappears after decades of absence.

Album is a small pressing but seems well distributed & their old works were unique enough that I'm definitely interested.

I am digging the Grim "Orgasm" LP very much, could be wrong but I believe it's a rerelease of mid 80's CS material.
