Non-Music Composition - A Workshop for Sound Artists with Sam McKinlay

Saturday May 27th 2017
11:30am - 1:30pm
Red Gate Revue Stage - SECOND FLOOR
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Limited Capacity to 20 seats!

Presented by MAC Media Arts Committee, CRES (Community Radio Education Society), Red Gate Revue Stage, Panospria, and Drone Day 2017.

Guest Facilitator - Sam McKinlay

Join us at the Red Gate Revue Stage for a special workshop led by
established sound artist Sam McKinlay on the topic of Composition.

While Sound Art is often thought to be closely related to music, as sound art composers we question the application of music composition approaches to sound art works. As such, McKinlay will be exploring more art-based composition concepts and theories and relating how these elements might be better suited for sound art composition.

Sam McKinlay's strong art and sound art backgrounds specifically make his facilitation of this workshop a unique experience. McKinlay has toured internationally with multiple projects and has an extensive recording and composition history.

This workshop is presented alongside Drone Day 2017 on the main floor of the Red Gate Revue Stage.

Nice one. This should be interesting. Too bad it's not in my block.
