Hey,

anyone got a Tascam Porta 07 Ministudio and has exp. using it ? I need some help here. Cannot find the damn manual anywhere.

A hint to a scanned manual would be of great help too.

Did you already record something with it ? Maybe you can help me out with some hints.
If you are willing to share your email and spend some lines to help me, please PM me.

i found this piece of test some old group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.music.4-track/nBPgMGck--Y)

QuoteFirst:
EQ set to dead center on all 4 tracks
Effects set to Zero on all 4 tracks
Pan set to dead center on all 4 tracks
Input to off on all 4 tracks
volumes+faders to zero on all 4 tracks
Cue on zero on all 4 knobs
dbx noise reduction set to ON
display set to track
track selector of   1 between 3      2 between  4
put the mode to CUE

Second: For recording
raise the master to 7 and a half
raise the volume of track 1 to 7 and a half
put the selector to INPUT
put the track selector to 1 (it's start to flash)
put the pan control to the extreme left
adjust the volume with the fader to reach "O" just before the "red"
record a track

For recording a second track on track 2:
(without unpluging the cable ......:-)
put the track selector back between 1 and 3
then put the track selector to 2
put the pan control all the way to the right
record !!!

PING-PONG
let's say you are bouncing track 1 and 2 on the 3rd
put source to TAPE on track 1 and 2
put the pan all the way to left on track 1 and 2
plug your guitar on track 3 and set it to INPUT
raise the volume on 7 and a half (don't forget the master)
first, adjust the volume of track 1 and 2 by making sure that
they don't go too much into the red
record. Now, the track 1 and 2 are recorded on track 3
while you are recording a guitar riff.

Third:  Mixing
Put all the knobs and volume ans fader like in the beginning
Put the mode selector to MIX
put the selector on all your tracks to tape
raise the volume to get an overall good sound (don't forget the
master)
set the pan to dead center (try a guitar on the right and a guitar on
the left)
EQ the whole thing

Put it on a standard cassette by using the "LINE OUT" plug behind only

the BOLD part is of most interest for me at this moment but it seems i dont get anything right,
besides there are two parts which confuse me the most.

Quotetrack selector of   1 between 3      2 between  4
dont get it at all

Quoteput the track selector to 1 (it's start to flash)
where is this track selector ?? cannot find it on my device

first and foremost thanks for your effort to help me. scans of photos of the manual would be great.
i have the slight fear, that the machine could be broken. the red lights und track 3 and 4 flash
but the light under 1 and 2 dont flash at all. when i put the mic in line 1, input set to mic/line and trim
set to mic then i have action on the volumne display. there is input from the mic, no doubt.
anyway, there is nothing on the tape other then tape hiss.
