Since there was no dedicated topic yet, i was wondering what kind of delay pedal people here can recommend ?
I don't wanna go all the way spending mad cash, but i'd like an analog pedal/box with possible self oscillation capabilities.

Any ideas ?

This one is inexpensive, and sounds great. Real analogue so the delay time is not very long, but self-oscillates and works well in feedback loops too...

I got this one too and it works great!!

as well as the MOOER Skyverb for a reverb effect

Cementimental

two or more reel to reel tape recorders

Ibanez Echo Shifter is what I would suggest based on those requirements.

Also, based on my observations it appears that it is impossible to play a noise/pe show in Finland and not have the Boss DD-7 in your setup.

Boss DD-7 is great, I would never have a board without one. I must prefer a digital delay to analog. I also use a flashback x4, which rules!

The Malekko 616 is a great analog delay pedal. I just sold mine since I never used it - DD-7 gets all the love, but it's cool and really capable of self oscillation....

Yes, this was on top of my shortlist. However a friend of mine just bought one and it was faulty right out of the box..
So i wasn't sure.

In the meantime i got myself a second hand Pigtronix Echolution Phi pedal for a really good price. It's analog/digital hybrid.

it's on the way now, can't wait!

Euro Trash Bazooka

I just got myself a PT-80 in kit because DIY or die. It should be a fun experience.

I know this may look measly from a gear fanatic's point of view, but the "Digidelay" by Digitech is really good value for money. Many different kinds of Delay that range from subtle to so extreme that you can use them for recording own pattern-type sounds (especially when mixing it with a good Flanger, for example the Boss BF-3). Also has a loop function!

Well that sucks. In my experience (which is is admittedly not terribly extensive) Ibanez usually has pretty good build quality. But I suppose no builder/maker can ever get it right 100% of the time. But even so, I presume your friend got a replacement one? Or did he prefer to ask for his money refunded?

My favorite is Line 6 Echo Park:

Stompbox itself is so solid and heavy, you can use it for self-defence. And I also like their idea, that you can change the modules without having to buy multiple stompboxes (unless you really have to use a lot of them at a same time). I remember it being the second pedal I ever bought, and I'm still using it.

He got a refund yeah.

Actually think the Mooer pedals are generally worth it considering the low price and small size. Was pleasantly surprised.

I have the DD20 'Gigadelay'. It does a lot of neat things but I have some reservations. It never gets a very dense delay sound. It seems like they engineered it for very atmospheric, subtle delay. Nice on keyboards or acoustic guitar.
My other annoyance is that it has a tedious procedure to change the input/output level. You have to power it on holding down a button, and I always forget which one.

The DD6 I like a lot better, as well as some of the older models. They all seemed more able to get a total freakout sound.
Another unit which is not a pedal, but can be used like one is the Deltalab Effectron. Not the guitar center ripoff re-issue. But the original 80's version which is navy blue. I love the way this thing overdrives. The way the delay repeats degrade. It also has positive and negative feedback and pretty cool modulation controls.

Zugzwang Productions

I've had the EHX Memory Man with Hazaraï for a while now, incredible stuff. Probably not the best sounding delay (all digital), but one of the most versatile I found. You can easily find the specs, modes, controls online so I'm not gonna repeat that. But the thing at which this excels for me is auto-oscillation/feedback looping. With its two in/outs it doesn't need a mixer or anything, and each delay mode equals a different auto-oscillation mode ! Special mention to the auto-reverse mode, which sounds like abominations from hell or something.
