So, what gear are you going to get next or what gear do you dream of? Is there any specific reason you want these particular pieces of gear?

On my end, I recently found few quite cheap or 'cheap', depending what that means to you, synths I would like to get. Being a synth freak and mainly interested in synth based noise, I want to extend my own setup out of the 'korg volca bass' phase and get some proper synths, especially ones that dont require you to hold a key manually down to get good, constant stream of sound (that sucks, especially for longer tracks) and I am willing to dole out the cash to make this happen.

First one is Roland System-1 (relevant part is around 4 minute mark)

then Novation Bass Station II

and finally Arturia Minibrute

With price around 300 - 500 euros and great functionality, I think these would be the kind of thing I want. I have no interest for something like Korg mini-ms20 since so many people already use that. Trying to be an 'unique snowflake' at least on some level, hehe.

Oh, if it isnt clear, the names of the synths are links to youtube videos, if you want to check out their functionality or how they sound like.

I've wanted a Korg 800 DV for a long time, listen to this brutality!

And also, the delicious choir and string sounds of the FARFISA POLYCHROME

Arp 2600 would be nice... hoping some clone or other becomes a reality at a point where I actually have some decent money coming in haha

once I win a lottery I will buy two. I will never need anything else and most of the time i'll just masturbate to the fact that I own two arp 2600's.

birthdeath

I'm saving up for an analog synth, sampler, analog delay, reverb and a 4-track and other tape players

On the more exciting side of things I've made friends with a guy who literally owns a junkyard and says i can have anything thats unsellable

Zugzwang Productions

I'm not "drooling" on any particular piece of gear right now, what I have suits me and now what I would need most is more time and space in my room for exploring and experimenting new combinations.

Well the one thing I'm craving right now is an old photocopier to make my collages at home and circuit bend that shit. Just not enough room at home right now.

holy ghost

I'm basically on instagram to ogle modular synth pics.

I can't even consider getting into that sort of thing because I would literally bankrupt myself in a month buying new dumb modules for it.

I also want a DOD Milk Box Compressor and a Morley power wah as far as pedals go, it's not the cost it's like, I just am so sick of buying used pedals on craigslist, that shit can fuck right off. Standing at the subway like some kind of choad.

Repentance Products

I'm going modular so I'm drooling over basically every module I see now. Just sold a ton of gear (minibrute, kaoss pad, pedals, etc) and am building my eurorack. I want a RENE really bad but the learning curve is harsh so I'm building up my rack prior to getting this thing... But THIS is a drool-worthy piece of gear that is kind of the reason for going modular...

Euro Trash Bazooka

I read this interesting article yesterday. Maybe it'll shed a light on the modular world to some of the people on here:

THE RITA HN

i still always dream of the day i just have a simple dueling chain of multiple RATS or a couple of RAT rack mounts and that's IT for the rest of my days.
has been attempted, but never sounds nearly as good as Pat Yankee's.

I love my RAT, its an old Kalamazoo one that a friend gave me as a gift. Its kinda broken and gross looking...all rusty and peeled out, kinda like the sound it makes....

There's a 'Dirty Rat' pedal going for 90 bucks at a pawn store around the corner from my place. Worth getting?

I haven't bought any gear in years but I just ordered a Sherman Filterbank - hopefully coming in the next week

yeah, gear prices in Australia are annoying - you either pay a premium, wait a loooooong time for a bargain or pay a small fortune in shipping

Shit yes. Also find quite a few stores in Australia only order certain gear on demand rather than stocking it as a matter of course. That makes it impossible to wonder in and get yor hands dirty before making a decision, so it can be a bit of a gamble.
