Eyehategod are always incredible live. I'd love to see a Grunt performance. Booking them together is a bizarre and excellent idea.
Where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song and there's always music in the air.

I think it's a good mixture also. Would be nice to see more of cross-over gigs. I think the separation isn't all that necessary. HC and harsh noise go very well together for example, why not some metal, rock and PE too.

I guess it would end in massive fights or something like that. Just like bikers attacked Vidine Ramybe guy after he pushed a girl during his performance in grindcore fest. of course gig-goers in Finland might be different from those in here

Not in Finland I think. Some whining on the Internet perhaps...

Well, of course it depends on what sort of metal we're talking about. death, thrash or heavy + noise and pe?.. hardly imaginable for me. black, post-..., grindcore and others associated with punk?.. quite ok i guess

Eyehategod Mike has been doing his noisy things too. Did vocals for Bloodyminded, did those spoken word + ambient noise recordings too. I would suspect audience in Finland, who is familiar with Eyehategod, are mostly familiar with other underground stuff - including some sort of noise.

Grunt has played with punk, metal, indie and goth bands.. so nothing new here.

That's a good line-up.  I remember seeing EHG before Mike cleaned up; he was leaning over the monitors totally out of it for most of the set. They are one of the bands I discovered in a record store, just from the band name & artwork on their debut but the store only had one copy & a friend bought it.

10 years ago I saw Whitehouse support Earth in London. Earth were terrible and Whitehouse, having found a momentary momentum, blew them off the stage. I saw Consumer Electronics with Sunn in Bristol and Russel Haswell bored the shit out of everyone with his laptop shite in London. Hazard supported Sunn in Malmö. I'm sure others of that ilk have featured on their bills but it never went beyond the clean and respectable end of the genre. Then it seemed to die a death totally. It's a shame the initiations weren't acted on and taken further with more brutal acts and just all round more qualitative names.

I can imagine this happening again at this show. Grunt should be headlining.

EHG have nothing in common with earth or sunn...
This sounds like a great show- no matter who headlines...

FreakAnimalFinland

EHG certainly IS headling, yet I must say that I don't care of such thing and most of all, I would prefer NOT to "headline" anywhere. Especially not in fests. I don't know is it Finnish phenomena, or just type of people I know, but most people I know basically compete who can play sooner than the others, hah!
It's not really order of bands what defines "headliner". Seen so many gigs where the good band plays, and half of audience leaves after that, leaving "headliner(s)" to play for half empty venue. In this EHG gig, there's no worry of that. It's good live band that always delivers! Seen them few times in Finland & Estonia.

I booked a show in February with Iron Lung (grindcore/powerviolence), Column of Heaven (powerviolence/metal/hardcore/whatever), Vaccuum (noisy distorted d-beat), Miscreant (traditional US-style power electronics), Permanent Ruin (fast hardcore) and Striations (power electronics/harsh noise/junk metal abuse). Really good gig. Almost all of the punk/grind audience watched and enjoyed the noise/PE acts (Striations got an incredible response from the crowd), and the noise folks seemed to enjoy the other acts as well. It worked really well. I'd also like to see more gigs like that in the future.

No shit. I mentioned those name in a broader sense of some of our genre who've played with metal/rock of the heavier kind and how it's a shame there's not more of it.

I played a show with Fleshpress and Bong a few years ago which I enjoyed very much. Further back there were talks with Moss which sadly fizzled out.
