Audio recording of an eyewitness in Woolwich attack.

I was watching some document piece about situation in Kongo. It was being asked why ongoing war with 10 million bodycount doesn't make to papers, while cases like this, or the boston, will make headlines in just about every media around the world. You got the mandatory nazi document coming every week (or should I say day?) on TV channels, but Kongo? Who cares? Of course it is news, while situation in kongo is just business as usual.

And curiously, I didn't watch the raw footage clips before, but the man appears to say exact same. This happens in their countries all the time and nobody gives a fuck. Don't know or much even care what those men wanted and where they originally came from, but maybe type "UK interests in Congo" ......

Attackers were British, born of Nigerian descent and Muslim converts from Christianity according to what we are being told. So 'our countries' would simply mean Islamic states according to them. The Sun has more of the clip in which they talk about 'David Cameron won't be killed, it will be you' and there is the amusing sight of an old lady passing by oblivious with a shopping trolley.

I first became aware of the worldwide apparent cover-up/ignorance of the situation in the Congo from Mark Manning and Bill Drummond's book 'The Wild Highway' published by Creation after Penguin rejected it due to supposedly racist content. Deaths all over that area of West Africa, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast as well as the DRC, are mainly related to the trade in coltan, the mineral used in computers and mobile phones. Highest number of deaths in any conflict since WW2, absolutely dwarfing any middle east stuff, and we don't hear about it.

Yep, the congo situation is something I come across quite often, but certainly like said, just look at what world needs and you find it in Congo. Be it slaves, ivory, coltan, whatever. Situation is something that can't be solved, unless rest of the world wants to pay things what they are really worth. Until then, it's best to keep chaos and bloodshed going on, and exploit situation to maximum. It's certainly repulsive in levels of hypocrisy.

At least in Finland, EDL's chapter - naturally called "FDL", is one of the absolute worst. Utmost zionist, and to call them "fascist" seems very clueless. But perhaps the EDL's strategy promotes this confusion. But in some ways, it's kind of heart warming to read about mob agitation in front of pub, getting people ready to create social disorder, hah...

I guess the reason why Congo is reminded, is due situation or mining industry in Finland. Our laws allows any multinational corporation simply claim their rights to do business. They promise few jobs, and that it. State requires no %, no special tax for this "service". So any foreign big company can come, take all what the soil of Finland has to offer and walk away. Leave accepted amount of pollution of ruined earth behind them. When you get conclusion that despite supposedly representing civilized west, our mining laws are "worse than Congo", you tend to hear about it a bit more...
I feel that some people will pay, eventually. They will claim on ignorance or "bad decisions", but I hope for settlement in blood.

So much horror goes on in Africa, you'd need another 24 hour news channel devoted to covering it all.

As terrorists go, these guys chose a much more appropriate target than the Boston bombers.

It just reminds that conflicts of modern age can't be restricted, but countries engaging into war, exploitation, etc won't leave these problems there - but bring them home with them. There's pretty good article about difference of old times, when countries had defined enemy. They'd have the disagreement, even war, but eventually binding contract could be made by two parties. Enemies, who still played the game. Now, there is no more well defined enemy, and you can't make any kind of deal. You go to war, and all you must provide is ultimate annihilation, to make sure the enemy is all gone or unable to stand up. But even then, when there is no more defined "enemies", enemy simply is the unexpected man in your own neighborhood.

Interesting to see Ovenden go down.

Ovenden had described himself in court as a modest man, but told police he had a "major reputation" for creating "some of the best portraits of children in the last 200 years".

He also declared himself one of the "two or three great printers" in the world. But the court heard his portraiture formed part of a ruse for abusing girls.

Following his conviction, the Tate gallery removed images of his work from its online gallery, and also removed access to his work in its galleries.

Someone opened blogsbot site to host images, though. Called "notintate" or something like that.

Trevor Brown has a good roundup of posts relating to Graham Ovenden: http://www.pileup.com/babyart/blog/?p=1498

Having read up on that stuff and even seen an example of the 'Through a Glass Darkly' series I was quick to pass misinformed judgement on, I think he's been set up.
