Mass shooters use to be angry, middle-aged men, now it's teens to early-20s who barely have any 'real world' problems. They haven't been alive long enough for life to beat them down so they have really extreme reactions to very minor, temporary issues. They haven't earned the right to go hunting humans!

I think it was the 2 kids in Arkansas who teamed up, one pulled a fire alarm so the shooter could pick kids off as they were coming out of the school. That one was interesting. I can't remember why they did it. Bullying, probably.

There's reports that the CO. shooter was dumped recently by his girlfriend & he sent a Uni. psychiatrist a diary with drawings of his plans but it sat in the school's mailroom until cops found it after-the-fact.

I thought I was the only one who missed good old serial killers. I don't know if they are by the wayside because of the technology we have now which lets us catch them quicker, as opposed to the 70's and 80's which was when Serial Killers seemed to be on the rise, or if the media now pays less attention to them because they are told to due to it feeding their ego, especially when they are given a name.

I've never liked mass shooters, I prefer bombers when it comes to the "loner who jerks off to Guns & Ammo" type of guy.

As soon as I had read that, I thought "who the hell takes a baby to a movie theater?" What kind of parent takes their kid to something that loud and overwhelming? I thought most parents could have a nice day in the park and be happy, but no, it's all movie theaters and shopping malls.

Yeah bad judgment on their part, "Oh I have an Infant and nothing to do. What? Dark Night Rises came out??? Going."

Keith is absolutely right about this rise of spree killers fall of serial killers trend, I would attribute it as another incredible byproduct to this mega technology instantaneous culture mindfuck we are in right now, im pretty sure the guy said he was "the joker" or apparently referenced some character from the film before he attacked, so maybe he was more interested in the film itself than with any sort of political or socio-political adgenda

This turn in the discussion immediately reminds me of Virgina Tech, another example of the contemporary spree killer:

As far as the "decline" in serial murder, its all relative, but im confident we will have a new "big name" case soon.
All the cases that get any media attention now are of old ass men who were serial killer back in the late 70's or 80's,BUT they just got found out now. Like the "Grim Sleeper Killings" and  Joseph Naso in Reno.

If I remember correct there was an active Serial killer in the Brooklyn area.

not sure if this one has already been posted.

Speaking of old ass men....
"Ronald Brown, 57, of Largo, was arrested last week after federal agents found that he'd allegedly been chatting online with child pornography suspects about "extremely graphic discussions regarding kidnapping, sexually abusing, murdering and eating children," according to a federal complaint obtained by the Tampa Bay Times."

he'd allegedly been chatting online

Be careful what you talk about on the internet. what a lesson. Those pics from the article are damn creepy.

I think there are definitely serial killers out there but it seems less attention is paid to them by the media until they're caught. I wish another Randy Kraft or Larry Eyler would surface.

Yes, the Gay killers are always the best. I've was in contact with a Gay killer in Prison who wrote about some men he said he killed and the cops didn't know about (put a part of one of our correspondences in the FAGGOT piece I did in Exoteric).

i am not sure i even remember the last time i heard about an american serial killer...

except for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Sowell

but that was a few years back. at the risk of repeating what people have said, i also think it is rather hard to do in a country that is so advanced in forensics/crime investigation. there are cameras on every street corner. cellphones. precise DNA. its hard for people to disappear/reappear all while leaving a trail of dead behind them.

when talking about a subject like this, i am always reminded of that old documentary THE KILLING OF AMERICA (the full movie is uploaded on youtube if anyone hasnt seen it.) classic shock-u-mentary style thing that focuses on the moral decline of the country from the late 70s/early 1980s- mass murderers, serial killers, drugs, random violence. a great time piece.

There's a documentary on Channel 4 about an American serial killer where '11 bodies dumped on an isolated stretch of coastal road in Long Island, New York, leading to a wealthy gated community.' Do any US people here know of this case? At the end of the documentary they didn't have any idea who the killer was. I also remember reading about some more bodies being discovered in New York semi recently and they called the killer something like The Slow Burner killer or something to do with taking time  because he stopped for a long period in between these killings.

I meant to say Long Island City, never been to NY before but the place looks lovely.
Mom, daughter may be among 10 bodies found near New York beach

Yea, that Long Island Serial Killer has been a media sensation. I do hope that he actually gets away with it, a Zodiac killer of our generation. And I hope he keeps making calls to their family members.

I saw a report on CNN about a big child porn bust & they were referencing a Newsweek or Time mag article about kp's 'popularity' on the internet. Bust came from fed's tracking photos they suspected were new/recent back to a Netherlands daycare centerworker.

Wisconsin Sikh temple gunman named as Wade Michael Page. Here is his old band's myspace -http://www.myspace.com/endapathyband - the lyrics to 'Self Destruct' are now sorta amusing.

Some guy is on Fox right now reading lyrics by Youngland, another of the shooter's past bands. End Apathy's myspace page looks like typical 'tough guy' hardcore, not white power. MSNBC will have a field day with this: gun control & racism. 2 for 1!
