This is dull and boring as fuck; I had tried to read it once but abandoned it pretty fast. "The Spear of Destiny" by Trevor Ravenscroft is utter shit as well. "Unholy Alliance" by Peter Levenda is much better. Books like that are usually a waste of time because the authors who write them tend to approach the subject from an entirely different angle than somebody who is genuinely interested in that kind of stuff. Sometimes they even succeed in presenting a highly interesting subject like that in such a boring manner that you can't even read about it.

Interesting topic, which I missed completely. I would like to mention here "Unholy Alliance" from Peter Levenda. Interesting and detailed, it goes through the whole history of the relationship between esoterism and national socialism.

Richard Stanley's film documentary The Secret Glory (2001) details 'the story of SS officer Otto Rahn and his search for the Holy Grail'. I think you can find it on youtube.

Marco Dolcetta's series of VHS "IL nazismo esoterico" covered, not always perfectly, many topics. 12 vhs series putting together from the classic "black new age" of occult Hitlerism, wandervogel with all its gay undertones, Evola, Codrean (definitely interesting but surely not very occult), a completely over the top Serrano's interview in his home, Savitri Devi (Jay!), the elders of Zion book (cool because it traces the origin, but again what is so occult about a libel case?), very confused nazi ufo, Islam & national socialism, Tibet, etc etc. The VHS were both brilliant and hilarious, with some total nonsense, but the booklet going with that were very interesting and well documented.
The guy behind the operation was able to get in touch with some not-very open people, who trusted him, gave contacts, but then regretted it.

It was crazy I bought these in news stand. Unfortunately I lost all booklets and one of the tapes (sadly the one about the Exersteine, that was brilliant).

Picked up a book one time called "The Nazis And The Occult", by a fella called Paul Roland, and there is a chapter on the SS - 'Myth of the Black Knights'. However, I can't say I'd recommend it for anyone who wants an in-depth of in any way disinterested perspective. This one seems more like an excuse to flash about loads of Nazi symbols, whilst at the same time tut-tutting at the evil of it all at every opportunity.

Good background about secret societies and occult revival that influenced the Reich. It's in french, there's an italian translation, don't know about an english one.

Karl-Maria Wiligut – Himmlers Rasputin und seine Erben by Hans-Jurgen Lange
A comprehensive story of the man behind the nazi esoteric milieu (again read it in italian, don't know if there's an english translation)

Black Sun by Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke (and also his Savitri Devi biography, academic writing but reliable material inside).

Then obviously first hand material:
- Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels' Theozoology, or the Science of the Sodomite-Apelings and the Divine Electron (definitely not an easy reading)
- Savitri Devi's The Lightning and the Sun
- Miguel Serrano's The Golden Thread: Esoteric Hitlerism and Adolf Hitler: The Last Avatar
- Otto Rahn's Crusade Against the Grail: The Struggle between the Cathars, the Templars, and the Church of Rome (if you're interested in the subject)

There's a lot of stuff, it also depends on what you're more into: weird stuff like Serrano, runic esotericism (then there's the Von List material and also the beautiful Domion Press' biography: Wotan's Awakening) and so on...

I have to say that, besides the weirdness of the subject, none of these books is an easy reading. You have to be interested in the subject otherwise it can be really boring.
