Anyone use the Civilian model or the standard model that has a few more features? I haven't checked anything out on the Pro model. The pro does have a mix control, which, is always useful.

I'm curious what it would do to junk metal loops, etc. There's a video of it being used on analog synths & it seems interesting.

I have the Civilian issue and used it a lot. Many different  sounds are possible, not all usefull but some are great

I messed around with a civilian model my buddy has. It was ok but I could not dial in the sound as much as I hoped, though to be fair I played w it for like 20 mins. Running a contact mic through it was pretty underwhelming, but it does good with loops, creates a kind of chaotic 8 bit burst every run through.

For what it's worth I ended up going with a Earthquaker Data Corrupter to achieve a similar effect but with more tone control.

I believe I've had interest in the Data Corrupter but forgot about it. There's just so damn many boutique efx labels. It's as bad as craft beer.

I wish these companies would stop using guitar music to demonstrate their so-called "noise-makers"!

QFT

Or at least record an alternative on synths and drums at least, I guess it's asking too much for contact mics.
I know that guitar players may be the biggest market but some effort in that sense would not hurt sales I guess.
