Oksennus. The guys were wearing christmas elf type of red Mentors-hoods and playing some kind of experimental death metal. Without any too technical wanking though. One guitar plugged to both guitar and bass cabinets, one guitar with pretty normal setup and an excellent drummer. Growling vocals with heavy delay and reverb + occasional noisy sounds from a analogue synth (?). I got the impression that they played two long pieces. Captivating stuff!

Rotat. Unabomber-look-a-like guy on stage with sunglasses and a Pentti Linkola hoodie. The equipment also resembled a bomb of some kind... Good harsh rumbling and screeching. Rusty metal plate beaten with a knife? Later the artist told me that the blurry speech parts were Marco de Wit samples from Suomi Ensin movement, haha! Goes with the times I guess... It was the first Rotat gig and maybe Tero was so drunk also that some parts felt pretty aimless.

Satanoid. Not my cup of tea. Modular synth stuff with two guys sitting in front of a box of wires twisting knobs. No arc of drama.

Edge of Decay. Pretty decent feedback and shouting from three masked guys, but nothing too impressive. Soundwise pretty out of balance too.

Pain Nail. The first band of the night that seemed to know exactly what they were doing. A contact miced (?) crash symbal, loops, sounds coming from Walkman tapes, shouting through delay and a nice brooding atmosphere. Enough time was given for each piece of sound or loop to unfold but enough movement in songs was also happening to keep interest. A good balance of control and emotion. This performance was worth the drive!
