Hello there;
Some of the Finnish members here may have heard of the
Kontula Electronic festival. Less well known is the existence of the
Kontula Panic series of live shows that operates unofficially under it.
In 2017 we've had four live shows (there may be another one in November, not sure yet), and we're planning a similar number of shows for 2018.
So, if you work in the noise/drone/ambient/avantgarde/alternative electronica/etc. genres, live in or plan on visiting Helsinki sometime in 2018, and would like to play a live show, please let us know!
We've built a couple of dates around a visit by an artist from out of town before, so as long as we know reasonably in advance it is easy to arrange.
Most of the shows for 2018 will take place in the glorious
Bar Patajätkä in the Kontula shopping district (statistically the most likely place in Helsinki where you'll be physically assaulted). In the summer we'll also try to see about putting on an outdoor show of some kind, but that remains to be seen.
I'm afraid we cannot pay anyone for playing, but a few drinks and something to eat can certainly be arranged. Possibly some cash to cover (some of the) travel expenses. Our shows are free and will remain so, but the option of passing the hat around the audience is of course there.
