KOUFAR - Phoenicianism C50

Phoenicianism is a word of identification. It means that the Lebanese people of the present days are strongly identificated with the ancient Phoenicians. This means blood, the power of the blood, the lineage of your roots, the story of your actions. Blood leads to passion, power and necessary brutality, every feeling that boils up our identity is piled heavy in the new Koufar effort. "Phoenicianism" is the sum of the identity, the starting point and the end of a millenary bloody lineage. Blood is everything, it's the sustenance of every flag.

WHITESWAN Inevitability of violence C20

In the era of the denial of violence, after decades of caresses, weekends of flowers and coloured chalks we need a severe monochrome vision and offensive actitude. To refuse the violence means to suffocate the mankind, violence and his acts are often necessary as natural part of our being.

Whiteswan with is "Inevitability of violence" sounds this thoughts in a fierce 2 long traces of cold harsh noise. Painful vocals and sharping and rumbling noise as a nervous call to violence.

20 minutes cassette released in a white cardboard box with inserts.

INSTINCT PRIMAL & PURBA forest ritual C20

Reaching Kutna Hora by Prague I had the chance to travel the countryside of Bohemia. Trees, forest, and finally the bones of Sedlec. A sort of ritual, walking among the trees to find the glacial white Kutna Hora ossuary. "Forest Ritual" is an aural testament of a place where death and life becomes a single entity. Instinct Primal and Purba join this dark walk to create an aural experience of bones, cosmic connections, trees, stones and ancient spirituality.

Side one was recorded during the day in a snow storm, side two was recorded over midnight during a full moon in a silent forest. Fire and ice, day and night, light and dark, white and black.

C20 clear gold tape with 2 large inserts and 8 postcards, all the photos are conceived for this release. Everything is wrapped around by a shroud.

INSTINCT PRIMAL & PURBA - FOREST RITUAL (cassette by Nil By Mouth)

Here we have quite a lovely package, with leporello booklets, black and white pictures of the forest in
which the ritual was held and also some iconography that is not my taste (crucifix and such). I
understand that all of these sounds are recorded in the Bohemian countryside, in the forest and at the
Kutna Hora ossuary. Some of this was recorded during a snowstorm and all of the second side during
the night. I am not entirely sure but it seems that there has been battery-operated instruments in use
here to play the music. It is all about "the aural experience of bones, cosmic connections, trees, stones
and ancient spirituality", which is not the kind of thing this 21st century sceptic has much interest in,
but as I was listening to this on headphones, sitting back with my Walkman (a rare thing to do, I
realized, but maybe something I should do more often), I actually these heavy walks in the dark, the
sonic overload generated and the cracking of branches along with rain fall and other ghostly forest
activities. I assume, but might be wrong, that this is not a 'live in the forest' recording but the result
of collaging various recordings together, overlaying various sources together, which is quite rightfully
so as a choice. It enriches the music quite a bit I think and despite the somewhat gothic overtones it is
even for me a most lovely release. (FdW - Vital Weekly)
