The Alesis is sold as is. I got this unit some time ago without any PC. I have never tested the unit on the correct EL adapter, but I had a DC 9V phono plug adapter at home which manage to fire up the unit, but due to incorrect electrical current the sounds from the output was low and distorted. More than that I don't know. The previous owner said however it worked but I cannot confirm that. New 9V AC PC ADAPTER online can be purchased for under 10 euro.
