I used to have a radio show (www.deliriousinsomniac.com), and since I left after 8 years, in 2014, I have been going to WZRD.  When I start itching to do things with recent purchases, or to go through old, rare records, I see about filling in.  The WZRD catalog began in 1974, and was a haven for experimental music in the 80s.  There are tons of rare cassettes and records.

There was a fella named Andre who died of AIDS and donated his entire collection, so when I go to his "section" of the catalog, there is just a ridiculous amount of very limited and rare noise/industrial/experimental.  Some things I have found are still not mentioned on the internet at all, and would be highly coveted.

I started this blog to help people at the station share stories and tidbits, but nobody really picked up on it, so it's where I put my playlists and archives when I'm there.  Feel free to go through it as you please.  There are documents about legendary group sound collages on the station, with two different studios being utilized for this purpose, pipes smashing into floor tiles, fire crackers, etc.   http://thewizardchicago.blogspot.com/

I try to keep things flowing, so unlike other podcasts that are posted about on this board, I am doing freeform radio, and I like to keep things constantly changing in a free-association kind of way, but I will post here when I think there is a enough relevant material happening.  

As a side note/fair warning, when I am on at this station, it is often in the middle of the day, when I am normally sleeping, and I am a recovering insomniac, so I get pretty weird on air.   If you're looking for a professional sounding guy with an English accent, you won't find it here.
