One of my teen years favorite short movies remains "Thrust in me" (1984). Nick Zedd/Richard Kern, black&white.. 6 mins? It's so perfect, one should not even describe the plot.

I remember when opportinity rose to purchase complete The Underground Film Bulletin -magazine set I was nearly pissing my pants. It's the magazine Zedd used to write under pseudonym between 1984-1990. I wonder if anyone here knows, is the complete set just 9 issues? I see that #9 is dated 1990, but I can't find any reference online for actual amount of zines put out.
In this magazine, Cinema of Transgression Manifesto was first time published. It's so great to see it obsessively typed with non-electric typewriter.. starting with such a grandioso lines a'la "A new movement is born, and it is my destiny to make world aware of its existence".

These golden years are just pure gold. Old VHS compilations, later days DVD's... but when you look where some of these guys made in their career, I can only shake my head in dissappointment...

and simply proceed from there by yourself.
Some of the good clips are just girls with machineguns for few seconds.

Deathtrip films. Got bunch of these from a (vhs)tape trade friend early 90´s. Have to re-watch em. I do remember one scene mom/son phonesex. very nice. "mommy" was getting bored w whole thing "yes yes mommy is here ...yes yes." hah. brilliant.

I remember getting a letter from Richard Kern that was mailed from LA but his addr was NYC. Said he was 'in hiding'.

I had one of Zedd's videos that was horrible. Not sure if it's still packed away. Kern was way better than Zedd's films. I think I sent Mikko one of the Kern dvd's? Nice to see them but they're not as cool now as they were back in the early '90s getting dub's in trade from a biker n' film collector in Kansas (he was a gun nut too).

It's possible I got 2xDVD collection from you? Don't remember, it was so long ago. I had my copy about 7  or more years ago. I remember this well, since it's probably my ONLY item ever to get damaged due use of alcohol. Very rare occasion of having some art girls and comic artists over, and I decided to "warm up" with some b/w art films before proceeding to full on beastiality & s/m, eh eh,... in morning I wake up somewhere and find Richard Kern dvd cover marinating in beer & vodka flooding on table.

Not at the films are great. Some are just things to build up atmopshere while others are total success.

There is some "charm" in the mythical late 70's/80's NYC. And these films are basically reason why I have collected about everything from Lydia L what I have been able to find. Who are the charismatic females of 2000's? Thinking of old days, and girls I'd like to read, Lydia, Zeena LaVey, Cosey, hmmm...

I think I have one issue of Zedd's magazine. I still have a *HUGE* pile of exploitation/horror fanzines!

Kern's films are still cool just not rewatchable for me so no reason to have'em anymore. You have to love watching those slutty n' probably junkie women spinning AK47's around on hardwooden floors, right? Some of them have some pretty cool imagery that is completely unmatched today.

Maybe I do need to see'em again...

Great stuff at the time. I loved the two longer pieces of Kern you mentioned (especially "The right side of my brain" ), but my favurite of all the time is Zedd's "War is menstrual envy" with Kendra Pfhaler playing with tentacles and miss Sprinkle kissing the burnt sod.

A couple of years ago I have talked about it with Annabel Lee (now in Blood Axis) who used to be in Nazi, Bitches and others. Apparently they were living quite wild days indeed.

I remember this weird Danish female director -can't recall her name at the moment - shooting shorts mixing  "cinema of transgression"'s , surf/garage music with humans in stop-motion. Her funniest effort was the blasphemous "Prayjob" where the director herself sucks a weird Jesus/Devil lookalike.

Is it Beatrice Eggers you mean? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NED8PpXu_yI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxqJPuwdmIY

I think she was pretty involved with TOPY Scan at the time. At least Carl Abrahamsson who was the head honcho of TOPY Scan used to show her films.

Ask Annabel about her modelling for Charles Gatewood. I have only seen one of those pictures... She said she changed her hair colour not be recognised. I guess it didn't work.

tiny_tove

Nope.
I meant Bynke Maibøll http://www.bynke.dk/
I like Beatrice Eggers though.

I didn't know about Gatewood photographin' Annabel, will check into that.

I recently did an episode of my podcast on CoT. Not sure if anyone knows this but Zedd passed away this year. I was lucky enough to spend time with him in New York working on a project related to no wave art as a curatorial assistant at the Museum of Sex. He was brilliant, weird, subversive.
