Deterge - Accrete To Me (c15)
Jim Haras presents two tracks of industrial experimentation and harsh noise. Droning ambient passages give way to bizarre effects before climaxing in frantic, pummeling blasts of noise. Flawless execution from an artist that has emerged as one of the finest live acts in American noise. If you've had the privilege of seeing Deterge live in the last few years then you know how good this tape is, which manages to capture all of the intensity of a live Deterge set while adding the composition and depth of a studio recording. Hostage Pageant - Parallel Interruption (c20)
A perfect combination of americanoise crunch and Swedish tape filth. Hostage Pageant has explored a variety of approaches on recent releases, and Parallel Interruption manages to integrate these layers of junk metal, noise, tape manipulation and heavy electronics into a cohesive blend. Kazuma Kubota - Sameta Ryouri (c10)
Kazuma Kubota is one of the strongest contemporary Japanese noise artists, and a master of the cut-up approach to harsh noise. The A-Side of Sameta Ryouri is a pummeling, fast moving, and intricate blast of harsh noise. The B-Side is the deconstruction of that noise into a runaway train of industrial clanging and propulsion. Difficult to describe, with the only immediate reference point being Jason Crumer's recent full-length. Kjostad - Wolf Knoll Road (c32)
A dark blend of field recordings, metal, tape manipulations, ice, water, and wind. Sometimes minimal, sometimes climaxing into a crude release of noise. Attempts to find a balancing point between cold water, clean air, and the filth of rusted metal.

I couldn't be happier to finally release the first in what will be several harsh-noise focused compilations on New Forces. Resistance and Self-Destruction are Synonymous brings together 12 of the finest contemporary harsh noise artists for nearly an hour's worth of material, with tracks from Ahlzagailzehguh, Developer, Plague Mother, The Rita, Drug Age, Kazuma Kubota, Wince, Action/Discipline, Encephaloponic, Mordant Karma, Heinz Hopf, and Being.
