VERLAUTBARUNG

v/a STEIN: interpretationen eines geologischen materials und seiner symbolik DLP+7" [Mitteilung 94]

With four albums under their belt, the vinyl-only label Verlautbarung returns with their most ambitious effort yet: the 2LP+7" compilation Stein. Here 15 artists have been invited to offer their take on the concept of Stone. The results are a mixed bag of interpretations, where some focus on the physicality and the sonic possibilities inherent in this ground material: scrapings, grinding, and rumbles. Yet others have taken a more reflective approach, where existentialist track titles evoke the hardships of mining, and the barren wastelands of such regions.

Contributions from Amph, Clew Of Theseus, Contrastate, Dieter Müh, Doroga, Enklav, Feine Trinkers Bei Pinkels Daheim, Hal Hutchinson, Irgun Z'wai Leumi, Jeph Jerman, Kristian Olsson, Mnem, Niellerade Fallibilisthorstar, Ochu and Vårtgård.

Edition of 199 copies in printed colour sleeves and 16 page full color booklet.

That is some lineup! New MNEM material is especially interesting!

As a participant on this compilation I must say it turned out very satisfying, both soundwise and visually speaking. There is an appealing variety in both groups and contents, without becoming too wide, unfocussed or overflowing. Thank you, Bruno!

VERLAUTBARUNG

We have noticed some unwanted distortion on the second LP and the covers were not 100% satisfactory so both the second LP and the covers will be repressed. Sorry for the inconvenience - we will send a notice here when the new version is available for ordering.

The repress of both the covers and one of the vinyls have now arrived and the covers look MUCH better than before.

Both versions (with stones attached to the front cover / without stones) now available again through: http://www.millstonevinyl.se/

A few copies each soon on the way to Tesco, Malignant, Freak Animal & Tordon Ljud (those are copies without stones for administrative and security reasons).
