SCORE - go to abandoned shed near Glenbervie station on a windy day. Use two implements (in this case, two metal rods) to play the space. Everything must be utilised - ceiling, walls, floor, objects, etc. Recording device placed high, performance to incorporate space around device, (distance, different sides, behind, etc.). The wind's effects on loose iron sheets and on walls are incorporated, as are passing trains if any (in this case, one). Extra sounds (in this case, a helicopter) will not edited out and will also be considered part of the score. Any implements must also be used as instruments to provide sound, if possible (in this case, yes).

The performance must not be loud or built up. It must incorporate the space and silences between the use of objects, and the resonance of the building, as well as extraneous sounds provided by circumstances outside (train, helicopter, wind, etc). Attempts to be made to use both implements on different objects as well as concentrating on individual objects.

EDITING - additional layers of sound provided by video taken of shed interior (seen here).

LISTENING - focused; emphasis on difference in sounds and their qualities between various objects (iron sheets, metal rods, light fixtures, nails, furniture, shopping trolley, empty fire extinguishers, rusted bolts and nails, metal storage cabinet, hessian blanket, etc.). As none of these items will be distinguishable to the listener, the listener must instead attempt to focus on audible differences and their location in the space as picked up by the recording device. Extra layers of sound added in the editing process may confuse some listeners but also may make the over-all piece more casually listenable.
