Nice, probably gonna catch the show in Aachen! Question: how does one get an ultra left-wing Antifa venue such as an Autonomes Jugendzentrum to schedule a Power Electronics concert? Normally they even whine about rap lyrics because of their "sexism" and "misogyny", so I can't imagine they're into the whole "The Pleasures of Rape" thing, ha!

Excellent.
I have no idea. Neither about "Autonomes Jugendzentrum" nor the concept of ""The Pleasures of Rape".

The term "Autonomes Jugendzentrum" refers to a extremely leftist, most often ANTIFA-related/organized kind of youth club. Most of the time only antifascist punk, ska etc bands perform there, so I am a bit amazed that Control are playing in one. Not that I thought of them as being racist or anything, but normally only hipster and ultra-PC bands perform in this type of loation. Plus I would have figured that the ANTIFA isn't too big a fan of "sexism" and "misogyny". Not that I would want to label the guy from Control as being misogynistic or sexist, but for the german ANTIFA even the supposed "sexism" of mainstream rap songs is reason enough for public smear campaigns. "Pleasures of Rape" was one Control's older releases (and one of his finest in my eyes). It's just a bit odd that they would schedule a PE concert on their own turf. But hey, still glad to see Control being booked in Germany. Hoping that not too much of the typical Avril Lavigne/Emo Jugendzentrum crowd is gonna show up...

STEINBEISZ

Cmon. Dont shit your pants! If those ultra-left-wing-fascist wants to start struggle, play down the gig and go home.
It will end with their locations like in Dresden with "AZ Conni" - last concert of the noisers home crew was Balog, Broken Diode & Mezire.
Noone of the home crew is talking any longer about "AZ Conni" - its a dead place. E.xtrem T.on A.nstalt has left the building since over 2 years now and if such leftwinged location like Conni or Praxis are asking for some shows or artists, we are saying NO!
They should eat their meatless soup alone.

vomitgore

I'm definitely not shitting my pants over some youthclub. I'm simply a bit amazed that such a location was booked. Normally, an interview in a "wrong" zine (i.e. every PE/Noise scene for their standards) or a "wrong" split partner/favourite band/label gets these people whining, therefore it's pretty ungraspable to me. But hey, if everything works out ok, I'll be the last to bitch about it. If Dresden doesn't limit my spending power too much, I'll enjoy the show, the location isn't relevant to me. They could play in a synagogue or a communist party rallye for all I care. It'd be a shame if that certain date would have to be cancelled, because some kiddy started to cry about the (controversial?) content. Would be nothing out of the ordinary...

STEINBEISZ

the main problem is to find a cheap location with a good pa.
in dresden a location wants to get 150€ per evening - an artist ~100€ ... you will need ~ 500€ to pay the rent for the location, 2-3 artists and promotion/flyer --- but you will not have the bar to catch some money by selling drinks. if its a good date you will have 30 guests at the door and they will not pay more than 10€. 200€ minus.

Guldur

Yep, i belive that's a problem everywhere. In Prague we have reasonably cheaper clubs (you may get them around 100 to 150 Eur), however we have lack of audience regarding industrial, power electronics and noise.

Our scene has almost died and it's a little miracle when you can attach like 40 people to some industrial/pe/dark ambient show.

Beside we are looking forward also to Dresden show, as it will be for us our first abroad performance with our Magadan project.

Check out our first live performance:
