First discovered that very Jodorowsky/Moebius story in English versions of Heavy Metal. I recall it was re-printed in three volumes, of which I have the second. It always struck me as very "Dune" inspired - hardly surprising since Jodorowsky tried to make Dune, with Moebius among others doing the designs (Chris Foss did some great designs).

I did not realize Jodorowskys Dune had come out already. I remember watching the trailer and being excited about it but couldn't find it anywhere. Will have to see it soon.

MASTERPIECE !!! Everything is in place. The story and characters, the colors and music, the whole mood is fantatic. Highly recommend that one

Without doubt, we should include Hiroshi Harada´s "Midori - The Girl In The Freakshow" (japanese Title: "Shojo Tsubaki") for several reasons.
The well somehow omnious story behind the production, the hide&seek attituede of the first screenings and last but not least the level of
depravity and perversion that is shown of by the protagonists of this animated trip into the darkest chambers of the human mind. Not less.

That book is inspired by a very nice novel by Ranpo Edogawa, the godfather of the so calle ero guro genre.

Regarding Maruo, get  Mr Arashi's Amazing Freak Show, Ultra-Gash Inferno... just anything.
It was the "Caterpillar" not the maggot, sorry about that-
