Rare recordings by pionneers of Industrial/Noise Music 1979-1983. Never released before on CD and LP.

Etat Brut is a pioneer industrial/noise band from Brussels that operated from 1979 until 1983. The duo (Phillippe x and Philippe X, today academic scientists) released a dozen of cassettes, various flyers and xeroxed booklets. Some collective concerts were organized at that time with Club Moral and Pseudocode. Cassettes like Emissions 1 (1981) or Géométrie d'un assassinat (1982) were released on their own label, some others in collaboration with Danny Devos (Club Moral) or Jerry WX (2Tracks, Digital Dance).
EB001 was released by Club Moral in 1986, a few years after the facts.

The double cassette Mutations et Prothèses was released in 1981 (Etat Brut, EB 004) and re-released by Club Moral in 1986. The two bonus tracks (only on CD) Sollicitation Extérieure and Psychosomatique are extracted from 4 IN 1, a cassette released in 1982 by Grafika Airlines, Brussels, including works by Pseudocode, Human Flesh and Mécanique Végétale.

I think I still have the 2x7" but I can't remember anything about it. Guess it was a bootleg? I'm not sure I've heard anything else from Etat Brut either or really know anything about them.

The 2 x 7" set was a bootleg released by Vinyl Feces. This one is authorized re-release from Sub Rosa. They have been in contact with the men behind EB, but said they are apparently very far away from these days now.

You should really check out everything you can find with Etat Brut. They are one of the best post-mortem / early industrial acts i.m.o.
While i.e. Club Moral can be annoying and boring at moments, Etat Brut never fail to deliver... Many of their works were available at the Club Moral podcast page, but they have disappeared now for some reason.
Other recent vinyl reissues of their tapes include "Geometrie d'un assassinat" as part of the Club Moral boxset on Vinyl on demand.

Forced Exposure distro's SubRosa in the US. Signed up for their updates so hopefully they will be getting the LP soon. There's a Survival Research Lab. cd on SR that looks good too.

I have no involvement with Sub Rosa.... I just posted the info here since it is of relevance for SI readers.
It was no problems for me to make payment with paypal.

Goat93

Yes, Finally a rerelase on LP and cd by Etat brut. Have waited many years for that to happend. Have already ordered it. Can we hope that more tapes by them will be rereleased.

Jarl: If you are willing to pay some € for the Club Moral boxset that Vinyl On Demand released, you'll get Etat Brut "Geometrie d'un Assassinat" on one of the LPs. Don't have it myself since I've got most of the tapes, but I had a look at TCs place. Very boring layout but great recordings on it.... besides EB there is also mandatory stuff like The Parts.

VOD93: V/A CLUB MORAL 1981-86 5LP-Box w. DVD (members with T-Shirt) 79,99 €

Compilation of early Club Moral, DDV, Etat Brut & The Parts-Tracks from 1981-1986. Club Moral was founded by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (AMVK) and Danny Devos (DDV) in Antwerp on January 1st, 1981.

The framework to this incredible Box-Set is mainly based on selected tracks by DDV from "4 Sept" (CM02) and "A Sound Atlas of Venerology" (CM18),  Club Moral's "Mit neuen Waffen" (CM03), with additional compilation tracks and live recordings by Club Moral. Furthermore Etat Brut's complete "Geometrie d'un Assasinat" (CM10) and a selection of tracks by The Parts (DDV, AMVK and Erik Vloeberghs) are included. Some of the tracks included in this Box-Set have never been released before.

From 1981 until 1993 Club Moral acted as a venue and until today as a music performance band. They have become known for their controversial performances and imagery because they focused on the presentation of art and live events of an extreme nature. Acts that have performed at Club Moral have included Non (Boyd Rice), Coup de Grace (Michael Moynihan), Slave State, Gerechtigkeits Liga, - Delta t, John Duncan, Angst, AR/TE, ProduKtion, Jack Stevenson, ConDom and many more. As a band Club Moral played about 150 live performances in Europe and Australia, in 2011 they will play in the USA.

Numerous exhibitions, performances, concerts, lectures and film-shows were held. From 1983-2005 they also published 16 issues of the Force Mental magazine with numerous international contributions on art, music, radical journalism, photography, literature and poetry. In 2010 a facsimile of all Force Mental issues in one volume was published on the occasion of the Club Moral rvstd exhibition at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen. Almost 100 different cassettes of bands that performed in their space in Antwerpen found release on their self-run Club Moral label.

This Box-Release should give an audio- and visual overview and insight into the work of and at Club Moral and their two protagonists, DDV and AMVK. It will take you beyond the highly sought after Vinyl-Release of "To All Who Are Interested" from 1989 and will focus on the very early stage of Club Moral's work including acclaimed pieces of close friends and collaborators

Members will recieve a T-Shirt designed by AMVK

I got a friend who has bought it and he also got most of Etat brut tapes om Bootleg tapes. At the moment I can't aford the LP box, so mayby will get it later if it's possible. At the moment it's thanks to the Club Moral stocklist I've heard all Etats tapes.
