Listen to the newer DT like you watch porn, just fastforward to the good parts!

eh, I guess I'll just suck it up.

where's the material start where he starts doing harsh noise experimentalism?

True start is "Test Work 1985" which first appeared as disc 3 of Kaiboudai collection in 1999. After that the beginning of releasing cd-r's in 2005. three of the four tracks on Y.M. are static noise attacks, Tranquilizer cd-r is more like i donno, early swans, heavily distorted with slow deathmetal grunting. Non-Euclidean Geometry is very noisy, while still retaining some of the old qualities. Everything just done more loosely, less editing, less tincture, more raw ingredients. This would probably be a good place to start, first two songs on Non-Euclidean Geometry clock in at under 12mins and they're really good. The whole disc is great, it's just too damn intense to listen to very often.

Remix Of Life was the first of the new stuff to really piss me off, where i felt gypped for buying it because i really didn't enjoy anything on it. Just endless static roar. Like someone with infinite lung capacity yelling AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! in your face for an hour.

I found Groping In The Dark quite enthralling, is any of his later work similar to this?

Not really at all. Groping in the Dark was the last time Ichiro sent his work off to be pro-mastered. Only thing that comes even close is disc 2 of Ocean Of Beings. It's outtakes from the GITD sessions, Same style, slightly weaker.

any similar artists would be good to recommend, thru last.fm I discovered Bourbonese Qualk, which according to the site, is similar, but I hear more Throbbing Gristle than I do DT. any help would be appreciated. been spinning the hell out of UPDII and Zigoku.

I'd be surprised if Ichiro Tsuji didn't listen to Univers Zero.  I was listening to the Heresie album, and when "Jack the Ripper" played, I couldn't help but think of Zigoku and the overall dramatic formula he used in Dissecting Table.  Add some distortion and death metal-styled vocals to "Jack the Ripper", and you're squarely at that era of DT.

I haven't listened to Univers Zero in such a long time...

fin de siècle

Dissecting Table`s "Hypocrisy" CD is also important to know, if we talk about his newer stuff ... it is one of his best albums. Recorded 2000, released 2004 by Mile 329. Carefully composed, partly improvised experimental noise. no blunt harsh noise here. absolutely recommended!

Dr Alex

Just got huge package from Steinklang and one of releases inside is Dissecting Table - Industrial Document 1988/91 2xcd. I am surprised that's cd roms and it can't be playable in cd player. Total crap!
Anyone knows reason??

I must admit I'm not familiar with Dissecting Table apart from a few Youtube videos, but I listened to the The Universe Is Only An Object tape yesterday (which was recorded in 2010) and I thought it was great. Not so much noise per se as intense sound manipulation, with a pretty wide frequency spectrum. It could be termed psychedelic as well. I don't know how it compares to his other material (from around 2010 or otherwise) but this is a great tape.

If you want to try "classic" Dissecting Table, try these:
