I will never, ever, ever ever ever stop raving about the "Anti-Performance" tape. Emil's characteristic turntable work using RRR anti-records as source. An absolute Top 10 desert-island noise tape for me.

(There are 5 very reasonably-priced copies on discogs, too, ahem.)

Agreed with everything said here, but we cannot forget this definitive document:

"America's Greatest Living Noise Artist" VHS

A missing link between noise performance and stand-up comedy.

david lloyd jones

just watched the link.
wonderful.
I love being Po faced as much as the next person but this reminds me of the joy of loud uncomplicated by concept noise.

It seems there is a new EB release on Hospital that has emerged with little to no fanfare from what I can see.

Already pretty confusing release. It says something about Ron destroying records 'from the fdr era' and contains a weird catalogue number in reference to that. I've only had a very cursory listen on my phone and will need to properly hear it later but I wonder if it's actually prurient records being played across the first side? Something is going on here with tongue in cheek understood only by Ron and Dom. I could be over thinking it but given the rrr tendency toward pranks, wrong footing and having been out of the Noise game for some time I don't know what to make of this very sudden appearance of EB for the first time in years. Anyone able to shed further light?

The 3rd track sounds so familiar, I definately know it, I thought it might be from the soundtrack of the movie "The Thief of Bagdad" which is from 1940 and would fit in the whole FDR era, but I haven't got a full rip of the soundtrack to go through...

100% new Emil material recorded this year.

I think after a bit of reflection I was just massively overthinking it, but that's only a testament to how much I love Emil and RRRon's wicked sense of fun/fucking with people. Ordered the tape. Gonna spin this digitally tomorrow. Totally thrilled to see it happening.

I watched a bit of Emil Beaulieau live gigs I have on mDV tapes. So good live gigs it seems disgrace to stash them for decades and nobody ever see them. Now handed over my old computer to repair, and HOPEFULLY there would be possibility to make transfers of tapes to files... and see what to do with them. There is also very short Emil interview, if that could be found.

Polio tape was really good. Listened it multiple times. 3 times, one after another, and still leaves you hungry for more. I really hope the man would return active into noise, as he clearly has ability to do noise that nobody else does. even if he boldly would rip other peoples noise to make it, hah..

Not sure if already posted somewhere but this performance made me smile, great combination of absurd humor and noise!

Straight murkin' riddim blud, absolute vile gash
