Now here's a band I hope FOAD does a reissue of....

Struggling to think of a band that meets your Uber specific criteria with no noisecore. Cryptic Slaughter?

Tuomiopäivän Lapset - Discography 2004 - Finnish HC - Been working through this a little at a time.  I don't think I'd heard anything beyond the 1995 Sludge Records 7" except their Kaaos cover.  Too bad.  As much as I appreciate their style of hammering, uni-dimensional repetition, I think they may have been better later on.  Painukaa Vittuun is a really good release.  My listening was a little wonky, but it seemed like they were messing with both UK hardcore and South American influence, particularly in the vocals.  It doesn't indicate this at Discogs, but are Totuus related?

Industrial Suicide - Demography - early Greek noisecore/grindcore/crust.  I hadn't heard of this either.  I love crust, but my knowledge of Greek crust is lacking.  It looks like Sound Pollution became Industrial Suicide and is also maybe related to Ναυτία?  LOTS of Athenian involvement in punk at the time.  They have a bandcamp page with a couple of other things available, but not these demos.  If you're curious about the noisecore, it's worth a visit.

I confused Industrial Resistance and Industrial Suicide for a second but nope, there's the Industrial Suicide in my discogs want list. That tape looks really good! The Sound Pollution Discography LP is great too. Lots of crossover to the Greek black metal scene of which I am quite partial. Super cool to think there was some Rotting Christ crossover.

I have that Tuomiopaivan Lapset DLP but I can't remember the last time I listened to it. I'll have to give it a spin as it was in my "do I need this" pile.

Been listening to a lot of Isterismo lately. Really exciting band I had glossed over. Now seeking out everything! What a total fucking rager. I love that they sing in Italian.

Also been continually slamming the Sex Dwarf LP from last year and the new Paranoid as well as the split 7" they did. These bands can do no wrong in my book. I also grabbed the Krömosom "Nuclear Reich" MLP and found it a huge letdown. Like a lot of joke punk riffs mixed in, I really enjoyed the "8 Track LP" and the 7" material I had but this was kind of a letdown.

If you're into Finnish HC, I thought this was good.  There seems to be quite a few competent Finnish HC bands active today, but I rarely find new ones that actually pique my interest.  VoiVod and Amebix as influences.   VoiVod in "Metastaasi".  I wouldn't mention that if I didn't think they did it well.

A full length record from Florida's Seed Of Pain just dropped the other day, titled Flesh, Steel, Victory...

This shit is basically Bolt Thrower but for metallic hardcore kids who (for whatever reason) don't like death metal. They even have the whole Warhammer shit going for them. Tough music played by seemingly not-so-tough guys. Lil Ugly Mane approved. As if that matters.

Frankly I'd be really happy if there was a resurgence in bands that sound like MASSKONTROLL playing that slower stuff, now that's the sort of stuff that gets my outboard motor crankin'. Fuck these super reverbed vocals, let's move into punishing bass territory. I rarely if ever go back to the other Portland stuff like Resist, Detestation, but that MASSKONTROLL did it perfectly.

I love that it was recorded at Smegma studios too - I would have had no idea who Smegma were in my teens but I LIVED that "Will You Ever Learn?" LP so hard and it all comes full circle sometimes.

Got this "liked" and I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the heads up.

Been on a real Bl'ast kick lately - first two albums are so great! Can anyone comment on the Southern Lord reissues/remixes? I'm always wary of "Dave Grohl" on the hype sticker.

Also on the same note been real into the first Annihilation Time LP - the later albums were super fun party rock and pretty good but this first one is just so vile....

Jammed the Power of Expression for the first time in at least a decade last week. I assume that's what's on Spotify and it sounded fine to me. There's definitely at least one Black Flag riff in there.

The first album is an all-time favorite.  A pretty special album to me with lots of attachments.  No interest in any sort of revision.  I grabbed the SL remasters from somewhere, just to have them, but I've never listened to them.

From elsewhere, one of my favorite quotes:  "I love classic punk music so I really hope Dave Grohl and Southern Lord can rescue all my potential favorite records from sounding how they did when they originally blew everyone's fucking mind."
