I higly suggest his book Evolution of a Cro Magnon.
yes.  and if you're someone who listens to books, there's also an audio version.

I met him several times around Europe and was extremely entertaining to be around with.
No-bullshit guy with a lot to tell.

Not to mention Cro Mags were one of the best/wildest live bands I have ever experienced.

I dislike the Cro-Mags. I love hardcore/punk, though.

I also dislike NYHC, both old and new, because I find that tough guy attitude quite ridiculous. I do love Reagan Youth and enjoy Burn (best 7" on Revelation in my humble opinion), Urban Waste or Gorilla Biscuits.

I think my enjoyment, and acceptance, of NYHC from the 80s is related to how I can deal with some of the unappetizing aspects of power-electronics etc.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But more than the attitude, I just find the music corny as hell.

This certainly served as a litmus test for my ability to make it through the equally endless posturing in electronic music. Similar cheeky grin when listening!

This notion is probably agreed with from the opposite side :P

Slamjacob

speaking of NYHC... has anyone else gotten into the book yet? It's so good.

I love NYHC!! Urban Waste, Antidote, Kraut, Heart attack, The Mob, Cause For Alarm, The Abused, Reagan Youth, Alone In A Crowd, Straight Ahead, Burn, Undead & Cro Mags are my favorites! From what i've heard the book isn't that great..

Saw Warzone in Albany, NY around 96' or 97'.  One of the most fun shows I've ever been too and I can't even remember what other bands played.  Skinhead Youth is a great sing a long.

Mikerdeath

Agnostic Front - Victim in Pain (1984)
Agnostic Front - Cause for Alarm (1986)

Lets not forget about these?

Also, I just ordered the YDI - A Place In The Sun / Black Dust LP Re-Issue on Southern Lord, I recommend this especially to all who have never listened to this band before.

Ray was a very nice person to be around with. Saw them in Europe not too long before he left us and they were impressive.
Love the way they inserted melodic parts in their singalong and the Don't forget the struggle record had a very original production...
And, damn, "The sound of revolution" is one of the my favourite songs ever..
