Ramallah. Sure most people on here would prefer Blood for Blood though. I do, but some Ramallah tracks were alright.

I'll never forget seeing them at a house show (owner was a Courage Crew member and eventually was arrested for kidnapping) stepping out and throwing hard fists (as well as taking my own beating) during this track in a cramped basement. Track still kills. Wish I could say the same for their other tracks.

I still jam "Kill a Celebrity" regularly.

Be careful, you might be deemed SAFE! Ha!

As I said, some tracks are meh, while others are meaner the hell. Kind of wish Rob didn't have a drug problem.

Courage Crew was at most of the shows I went to growing up, because I was razed in the town they were founded in. They were silly. Even sillier that Will Smith ended up befriending a good portion of those dudes.

Thankful that I didn't have to deal with the Michigan chapter as much......those dudes were kind of scary. Always a bummer when those fools showed up.

QuoteForgotten Massachusetts band, SIEGE

Not forgotten in the grindcore scene: their Drop Dead album is considered probably the first proto-grind release.

SIEGE hardly forgotten. I reckon this one must be PERESTROIKA  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g1GuR9vULI

Anyone know which vocalist from a NYC band that split a audience member's head open with the mic stand? I think he was was covered in tattoos... I think it was Slogun that told me about the band (he may have knew the guy in question).

Ha! A bit general eh?

Thats like saying "Hey, was it some dude in a black band shirt, jeans, and with tons of tattoos beating someone down at that last hardcore show?"

Interested to know who bitewerks is thinking of, but NYHC & tattoos would be a fairly common association, see also:

Yea Hardcore shows are generally violent especially on the east coast. I hate hardcore but I used to goto local shows just for that reason. There was some crew in my hometown called, if I remember correctly, 24 Club or some shit like that. They basically went to shows to fight and then went to Taco Bell afterwards haha. I never got into it with them outside of this little fight club thing they had going at a church called the 209 that used to run shows (Peterson, you ever go to those shows?). 1 minute, 2 guys, bare knuckle and if you wanted you could go another round, it was pretty fun and everyone got the idea that it wasn't serious so there was never really any bad blood there and the only rule was that "no one wins". I think more scenes should do this. My first fight was with the ex-boyfriend of the girl I was dating at the time, and it was basically like therapy. We fought for our minute, exchanged a few nice hits and then shook hands and were cool ever since. Then I fought some fat dude a few weeks later who kicked the shit out of me and dropped his knee into my kidney when i was on the ground.

Some members of FSU Phoenix lived in the same apartment complex as me for a few years. Even though I smoked and drank we always got along just fine, they weren't the types shown in Boston Beatdown or any shit like that. They were violent dudes from what I heard but not complete assholes. I heard a few months after I moved out that one of the guys was at a hardcore show and some Nu-Metal poser kid was asking around for Meth and they said they had some and lured him to their car where they cut off his nose with a knife. Tweaker almost died, I guess he has a fake nose now.

HR bashed a skinhead in the head with a mic stand in 1995 causing considerable damage and actually causing the Bad Brains to split for a while.

Choke actually cooks my dinner Friday nights (we live in the same town and he cooks at a local restaurant).

I saw NOTA mentioned above, a favourite of mine is 'Fucked Up' from the Toy Soldiers EP. I was in touch with a Tulsa zine writer and promoter in the mid-80s who told me tales of startling violence at NOTA shows there from nazi skins together with a surprising amount of LSD consumption in the OK HC scene. Her zine was called "Bad Acid".

I had never heard of Courage Crew before this thread. That's fucking insane stuff.

I can't believe FSU was featured on Gangland History Channel. That show is just getting dumber and dumber.

Claiming any set or crew is stupid and the way most of them fight is even lamer, swarm attacks on people they think are weaker than them. Not at all tough. And somehow they still get their asses kicked on occasion, how does that even happen?

I think it was the guy from BULLDOZE.  I remember my buddies talking about it around the time it happened.  Never listened to em' or know if the story is completely true or not.  I remember something about a cymbal stand being used.

Bleak Existence

yeah Bulldoze is good ...

Yeah, I grew up in Dayton. They were always at shows. Just a lame-ass boys club, but I will agree that the Detroit guys are scary motherfuckers.
