I saw this on a google news search last night on a website called "Occupy Law Enforcement" or something silly like that, but it was password protected. Unfortunately, I don't think this guy will go on a shooting rampage, and he looks absolutely nothing like LL Cool J.

If the universe were a person, or maybe if I was a pantheist, this would be a crime against humanity! So, that asteroid should be fun: http://m.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/hundreds-hurt-as-meteorite-strikes-central-russia/article8711190/?service=mobile

Yeah, excellent footage around, but lots of hoax videos too. I guess the meteor/meteorite (maybe) was unrelated to the asteroid.

Back on topic: that "Bladerunner" cyborg athlete guy from South America murdered his girlfriend. When he first made headlines, I got to thinking that athletes would undergo elective amputations for that competitive edge, and maybe I'd start being interested in sports.

very interesting
I saw a movie on the subject but I ignored its extents:

there was something similar in my hometown where ex prostitutes were forced to work and never leave the place although most of them freely applied to live there.

New photos, details emerge of Newtown mass shooter Adam Lanza

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/photos-details-emerge-newtown-mass-shooter-adam-lanza-124951161.html

I saw something about the school being chosen because it would have the most 'clustered victims' which, sort of, backs up what the gun nuts have been saying about Gun Free Zones. I find it interesting that the article says the AR-15 is 'believed' to be used in the shooting. You would think they'd know for sure by now . There were photos of the LA copshooter's weapons before his body cooled down but there are no photos of Lanza's weapons...

The Elisa Lam case is creepy. 21 year old Canadian girl takes a solo trip to Los Angeles, stays in a sleazy downtown hotel and is found dead in the water tank. The CCTV footage of her in the elevator checking she isn't being followed is weird and sad - http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57570625-504083/elisa-lam-case-water-in-la-hotel-tank-with-dead-body-wont-cause-illness-police-say/

I'm tired of hearing about the fucking  Blade Runner of South Africa. Only interesting thing about it is whether he put his legs on first before shooting her.

from the BBC article Marco posted above

"Street gun violence is very rare in Switzerland, says Emma Jane Kirby, who recently investigated the subject for BBC News. However, there are more domestic homicides and suicides with a firearm in Switzerland than virtually anywhere else in Europe except Finland, she says."

there are not many dometisc homicides in Switzerland at all. more in the German part, but not many.
most murders in this area are street-violence related or committed by profugees/immigrants, but they are not many as well. definitely increasing since some years ago where nothing happened. new generations are very much into gansta culture and there seems to be a strong fascination with blades.

Keith I can ask to my colleagues at lunch break, but from what I have head I thing they are all in the "civil protection" alternative service, so no weapons.
Every now and then I see kids in camo carrying their gun home on the train, will try to take some snaps with my mobile if it happens again.

SIG makes beautiful rifles: http://www.sigsauer.com/Catalog/rifles.aspx

I use to own one of their handguns in .357 Sig caliber (9mm bullet in a .40S&W casing) but ammo was too expensive so traded it for something else.

I'd love to see this in Switzerland: http://vimeo.com/54892632 (not true crime related & you need to watch it all or, at least, till they get to the steep/tight switchbacks).
