Maybe it would be good to have a thread where users can discuss or post first hand experiences and reviews about various records stores(actual stores not mailorders) around the world which sell Industrial/Noise/Ambient/Experimental etc music.

Sarvilevyt, Lahti, Finland.
Nice selection of underground Metal, Punk, Industrial, Noise etc.
I guess everything from Freak Animal distro is available by asking but the actual shop is bit more metal dominated which is shame since it would be nice to browse through hundreds of interesting records and make impulse buyings but of course it's understandable why such an niche genre isn't dominating the shop shelves.

Edit: I'm going to London next year and I might check out some records stores. Anything else worth checking out there than Second Layer shop?

BIMBO TOWER shop is in Paris. I wasn't there but an owner of this shop buys many releases from IMPULSY STETOSKOPU.

There's another store in East London called Rough Trade East which has a small section of some noise related releases if I remember correctly. It's ok I suppose but I don't really go there, I always end up in Second Layer instead as it's amazing.

Some places I would recommend:

Alt Vinyl (Newcastle)
Digelius (Helsinki)
Forever Records (Osaka)
Ideal for Living (Stockholm)
Insula (Copenhagen)
King Kong (Osaka)
La Dame Blanche (Paris)
Souffle Continu (Paris)
Timebomb (Osaka)

In London Record Exchange might be worth visiting.

Human Larvae

There's a great vinyl record store in Berlin called "Bis aufs Messer"
Mainly specialized in Hardcore etc. but also quite a selection of noise/drone/experimental lps
The last time a visited, I bought some fleshpress, Daniel Menche, Bison cds (which they have considerably less than lps)
Nice guys, too

Italy:

Perditempo, Napoli - venue/bar/books and record shop. Not a huge selection but it focuses on noise and experimental stuff.

Alpacha Distro Store, Roma - small shop entirely dedicated to noise/noisy stuff, zines etc

Disco D'Oro, Bologna - big selection of used vinyl, and sometimes a few noise things from big labels

Superecords and Rock Bottom, Firenze - both great for vinyl, lots of good and rare classic industrial stuff. Some finds over the years: Henri Chopin "Revue OU" box set, SBOTHI lps, Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock lps, old Merzbow lps...Pricey of course.

i know there's another shop that carries newish industrial and noise in Firenze but i didn't go there yet.

GEWALTMONOPOL

For anyone willing to make the journey from London to Northampton (not that far apart) Cold Spring has a shop open by appointment only. Never been there but friends tell me it's well worth the visit.

Ideal for Living (Stockholm) ?

Here's some more info for you, Mattias:

I've only been there a few times, but they have a nice selection of 2nd hand records. The only record I have bought there was a copy of M.A. Numminen's På Svenska LP ("äkta finsk negerjazz på svenska"). So yeah, good place.

Yep, very nice 2nd hand stuff (prog, new/no wave, metal etc.). Probably not the place for the jävlaste bargains but neither the worst blood sucker. As a reference, have found Alvin Curran lp, "Metal Machine Music" 2lp, "Slow Death" 12", debut Illusion of Safety lp and some other skit (like first two Overdrive lps!) with a reasonable price tag. Entering the shop (or even the district) may require some hipster immunity though.
