WEREWOLF JERUSALEM 'Confessions Of A Sex Maniac' 4CD box-set out now on Second Layer Records.

Werewolf Jerusalem is the static drone project from Houston noise legend Richard Ramirez. The intention with this set was to present an overview of all aspects of the Werewolf Jerusalem sound, covering shorter "static studies", live material, long-form minimal wall noise and an entire disc of collaborations with The Rita, Baculum, The Whitehorse, Painful Vigil, Tissa Mawartyassari, Non Ho Sonno and I Spit on Your Grave. Essential for fans of Chop Shop, The Rita, early Dead Body Love, etc. 4CD set with full colour artwork, housed in a black gloss clam-box. Includes a 12 page booklet with extensive liner notes by Sam McKinlay of The Rita, BT.HN, etc. Limited edition of 280 copies.

Excerpts from the liner notes by Sam McKinlay:-

"...In the midst of harsh noise growing in its rabid intensity via ether-distinct edited and chopped lines and heavier and heavier monolithic walls of sound, 'Music for Mass Radio' presented something somewhat different to the harsh noise world, as it tackled intensity in sound in a very different manner. Richard Ramirez, under the Werewolf Jerusalem moniker, was exacting concentrated lines of subtle textural works. When listened to with a similarly exacting obsession the tracks were still very violent in their presentation of heavy texture and shifting, but always carried an enveloping sense of drone – hence the term 'static drone' that was eventually penned by Ramirez to describe his Werewolf Jerusalem works. Since that release (which led myself and many others in the constantly evolving harsh noise scene to firmly believe that texture and concentration itself can mean violence, drama, and even dynamism within the crackles and crumbles) Richard has gone on to prolifically drive home this style of harsh noise presentation.

...This new collection may sincerely be his best and most representative work to date. Most importantly, the material feels almost like a retrospective of sorts, as it is incredibly 'descriptive' in nature – with its dramatic twists and turns that seem to resemble the powerful thematic study notes of earlier Werewolf Jerusalem works, but brought to light and stage in such a way that only Richard could vehemently conjure. Throughout the four CDs of material you get a virtual tour through the world of Werewolf Jerusalem, as never before demonstrated...

The most astounding thing about this collection is its sense of story and timeline, but delivered via Richard's unique sense of static concentration, which keeps the collection from falling into a cheap story-line for 'entertainment's sake'. Like watching the incredible German TV series Heimat, but with the sound off so as to appreciate even more the moving landscape of the history presented."
