I've been making improvised harsh noise works from late last year, each around 17 minutes of real time creation and manipulation. The equipment list grew to what is listed below... The present series 'GENERA' has 100 pieces, the previous 100 using merzbow as a source are also on soundcloud.
They do not relate to any past, future or current events. I hope to continue to make more... they very much relate to this...

"A music produced by each individual for himself...outside of meaning, usage and exchange." (Jacques Atali in "Noise The Political Economy of Music" )

A fuller text here if anyone is interested.  No copyright on any of this...

I suppose a visual equivalent would be the later Frank Stella paintings...

Why release music publicly it's produced by each individual for himself...outside of meaning, usage and exchange?

Good question. I really don't know the answer. I guess the internet might be like the caves of Neolithic peoples? Or the nature of the romantics, i.e. the world in which I find myself.

Why did Atali write and publish this idea?

One finds oneself in this world, without reason, that's probably the best I can answer. 'purpose for no purpose' - Kant re Art.

I like this metaphor!

Interestingly, it somewhat ties to Masami Akita's idea of noise as a fascist way of using sound:

Quote
Sometimes, I would like to kill the much too noisy Japanese by my own Noise. The effects of Japanese culture are too much noise everywhere. I want to make silence by my Noise. Maybe, that is a fascist way of using sound.

In both cases what's being pointed out is the innate human drive to transform the environment by means of certain creative acts.

This is some really interesting stuff.  It sounds like noise is the sonic equivalent of architecture almost, given its strong emphasis on controlling space and people.
