Yuri Bruscky - O Grande Acordo Nacional (1" Lathe Cut, Estranhas Ocupações, 2019)
The record is composed by a one inch lathe cut attached to a R$1 coin (Brazilian currency) with a remix of the first compasses of the Brazilian national anthem.
Taken as an articulating element, the plasticity of the medium is a central aspect of the work. Playable on regular turntables.

Yuri Bruscky (Brazil, 1985). Develops artistic practices exploring imbrications between noise, language, sonic environments and everyday practices, through installations, electroacoustic compositions, sound and visual poetry, field recordings, conceptual propositions and intermedia projects. Co-creator of the sonic arts festival Rumor and the seminar and residency program (Entre) Lugares Sonoros. Co-author of the book History of Brazilian Visual Poetry (Cepe, 2018). Runs the label Estranhas Ocupações.

Thanks, that is really cool!  Was it difficult to find someone who would cut it?

Not much, actually. After a couple of contacts someone told me about Perth Vinylrecording (Australia), which presses in just about every conceivable format. Here's their website: https://perthectionist.wordpress.com/
